We've made a lot of progress as a society in many of the areas that we needed to in the last few hundred years. But one thing that has not changed enough is money. If we want to be able to tip the scales towards the favor of marginalized people, we need to understand the secrets to making money in small business.
The more we talk about money and the secrets that usually at the golf club, the more likely we are to be able to make money. My mission is to get more money into the hands of good people, specifically good business people like you. This is Money Secrets, the place to learn about the money secrets of successful small business owners.
I believe small business can change the world. And in order to do that, we need to be making a lot of money. Let's go.

This podcast episode was recorded on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. And I'd like to acknowledge them as the traditional owners and custodians of this land and water that I live, work, and play on. I'd like to pay respects to elders, both past and present, and note that sovereignty has never been ceded.
This always was. and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.

It's been a big few weeks at Money Secrets. It just feels like such a huge achievement to me to have not only launched this podcast, which has been hiding in the recesses of my mind for way too many years. But also to have so much support, so thank you so much to everybody who has reached out to me, who has left a review, who's left a rating, yeah, it's just so fantastic to have my first attempt at a podcast. Be accepted and in, you know, people are interested in it. So thank you so much for listening. I really hope you're getting a lot out of the podcast. I also wanted to give you a little behind-the-scenes kind of update. So we are currently in the final stages of producing season one of the podcast. So that is a season that you are listening to now.
[00:02:09]
And soon we will be getting back some of the women who have already been interviewed, who you've heard from. We'll be getting them back to find out what's happening now. Because some of those interviews, all of those interviews were done over a year ago now. And those women have had lots of things happen in their lives and businesses since.
So I cannot wait to catch up with them in the studio to find out what's been happening in their businesses, what's changed with their money, whether they've had any, yeah, big revelations, big wins, big challenges with their money or their businesses since those interviews. And whether the process of going through the interview itself was something that made a difference to them.
[00:02:49]
So thank you so much for your support. And yeah, we are loving producing season one of the Money Secrets podcast and yes, of course, we hope there will be a season two. And if you want there to be a season two as well, one way that you could do that is to share the podcast with your friends to leave a rating or review or to post about it on social media.
So the podcast has an Instagram handle, which is moneysecrets.podcast. And I'd love your support. This is an independent podcast. It is being paid for by me from my business, which is Peach Business Management. And yeah, I'm trying to produce an independent podcast that goes behind the scenes of the money stuff that people don't usually talk about.
[00:03:35]
I also have a really big announcement that I want to make for those of you who have only recently met me through the podcast, you may not have heard yet that Mia Fileman from Campaign Del Mar, who is my business bestie and I are launching a festival.
[00:03:50]
Let me take you back to the start. So last year, last September, September 2024, my friend Mia had just arrived back from nearly a year overseas as a digital nomad.
We, I picked her up, we went and had coffee and Greek pastries at her favorite Greek cafe, and I pitched an idea to Mia. I said, Mia, business conferences are boring. We see the same speakers talking about the same topics at every event, and I'm feeling a little bit uninspired by what's on offer. I really want to see much more diverse people on stages, and the other thing that I pointed out is that music festivals. But if business conferences are boring, but music festivals are awesome, why can't we do both? Mia said yes straight away, which was quite a surprise. I pitched her the idea that I wanted the two of us to put on a small business festival, and we have spent the last four months Planning, doing a lot of work behind the scenes, shitting ourselves, we are self funding, bootstrapping this festival, and it is no small deal. Putting on a major festival is a very risky and expensive move, but this, this is our big move for 2025. So today I want to introduce you to something called Ripple Festival. It's a two day major small business event where we are going to put musicians, artists, comedians, and small business owners on the same stage.
[00:05:30]
Don't you agree that we all belong together? Musicians, artists, and comedians are small business owners too. And I just think there is so much to celebrate about small business. We are already making ripples of change every day in our small businesses. And I want to make more. I wanted to put on an event where we would see people from all different walks of life, different types of bodies, different ethnicities, different industries, different levels of experience, people who are able bodied and disabled or injured.
People who are neurodivergent or neurotypical, I want us all in the one place. Because that's what small business looks like in the real world. And I want what is happening on the stage to look like real life, but make it fun. So, on the 12th and 13th of November, 2025, Mia and I are going to be putting on a crazy, fun, inspiration mashup of music, small business, and creativity. It is at Grazeland in Melbourne, which is a food lover's paradise. We will feed you, we will get you coffee, you will get adult beverages included in your ticket. And tickets are on sale now. If you want to find out more, you can go to ripplefestival.au on zinterweb and you'll find the link there to purchase your early bird ticket.
[00:07:02]
Now, tickets will never be that price again, and it's really important to buy tickets early to these events if you want them to happen. Mia and I are taking a big swing. We are putting our money where our mouths are. We are trying to create a big ripple of change within the small business world. And so far, it's looking like we are going to be giving money to or investing in. More than 50 small business owners as part of the event, and we are hoping to have hundreds of business owners attend the event too. So when you think about the amount of impact and change that can come from this event, it's going to be ginormous. If you wanna find out more, head to the website, ripple Festival au, or to our social media on Instagram, which is Ripple Festival. And if you have any questions, please send us a DM. We are really excited to. Be opening the event up to our community and cannot wait to put the event on. So thanks for listening today to this random rambling episode of Money Secrets.
[00:08:20]

To be able to move on to season two. And in order to make that happen, I need you guys to be listening to the podcast, sharing with your friends and leaving ratings and reviews.
